AWARD CRITERIA

The C. Colburn Hardy Older Advocate Award honors an individual who practices the values articulated by C. Colburn Hardy when he wrote:  “Hopefully, some of the projects in which I was involved helped to make the world a better place in which to work, to live, to love and to have our being.” 

The individual nominated should meet most, if not all, of the criteria for the Award:

An individual, preferably an older citizen, residing fulltime in the State of Florida.

An individual who has consistently made major and significant contributions to policies, programs and services for older Americans.  Activities could range from policy-making to new program development to significant service improvements and should have statewide impact.

An individual who advocates for services and programs for seniors, in both the public and private sector.

 An individual who demonstrates vision, advocacy and leadership regarding the future of services for the growing aging population in the State of Florida.
